The traditional name of Beyonce Diet is the Master Cleanse diet. When Beyonce, a famous singer, needed to reduce 20 pounds rapidly, she adopted the Master Cleanse diet, which was later known by her name. The Master Diet adopted by Beyonce was actually the detoxifying diet of Stanley Burrough. He incepted his Master Cleanse diet around 1930s. The singing star Beyonce wanted to reduce weight rapidly for acting in Dream Girls. Her attempt was a great success, hence the diet earned the name, Beyonce Diet.

Lemonade Diet, Maple Syrup Diet, and Lemon Cleans Diet are the alternative names of Master Cleanse or Beyonce Diet. This is a detox program and the dieters need to consume a lemon drink for 6-10 times daily. This diet program should be continued for 10 days.

Burrough originally designed this diet for helping patients to heal their ulcer. Though this is popularly known as a diet, Burrough referred it as a detox. The major objectives of this diet are:

Is Beyonce Diet Good for You?

Before adopting this diet, you must understand the requirements of this diet. Master Cleanse diet may provide you intense physical stress, because it will not allow you to consume solid foods for 10 straight days. Instead, the dieters should consume saltwater flush every morning. Then they can drink 6-12 glasses of lemonade drink throughout the day. It is also essential to drink laxative tea just before bed. Before adopting this diet, you must also aware of the immediate risks, long term risks, and whether you are able to do it for at least 10 days.

Once you decided to go for the Master Cleanse diet, the next step is the preparation. Each day, you should prepare 6-10 classes of lemonade drink and consume it. This can be prepared by mixing 8 ounces of water 2 tsp maple syrup, 2 tsp fresh lemon juice, and pinch of cayenne pepper. Before consuming the lemon drink, you should drink saltwater flush every morning. Some prefer to drink laxative tea instead to saltwater flush.

You should not eat solid foods immediately after the completion of this diet. In the day 11, you can use only orange juice. In day 12, consume orange juice. You can consume vegetable soup for dinner. You can use fruits and vegetables for day 13 and resume regular diet from 14th day onwards.

Disadvantage of Beyonce Diet

There is no medical support for Master Cleanse diet. Internal cleansing is also not healthy. It is because your body follows its own detoxifying mechanisms. Master Cleanse may also lead to some serious deficiencies of essential nutrients. This diet lacks fiber, protein, nutrients fro vegetables and fruits. This may lead to muscle loss, malnutrition, and fatigue. The possibility of regain the weight you lost is very high once you stop the diet. Quick and drastic weight loss programs like Beyonce Diet, also lead to some long term health problems.
